Recently I have heard many people I care deeply about going thru some really tough stuff and I felt the need to share this…
When bad things happen in life or mistakes are made it is amazing the people who stand by you and even more amazing those that don’t. When we are young and feel like we are untouchable we have friends we think will be with us thru thick and thin for life. In reality when you are on top everyone wants to be a part of the fun. When you are struggling, suffering, going thru tough times or great loss and do not have any hope, is when your true friends shine thru.
You think your family will be there for you no matter what. Unfortunately this is not always the case. Some humans are very selfish in nature and choose to hold pride and self image above all else. I have been fortunate to have a wonderful, loving, kind, supportive family thru all of the loss, mistakes, sadness, and tough times. My heart breaks for those who do not have a supportive loving family that can be there for them when they need them, but in those situations we are able to come in…
If you ever need anything I am here for you. If you ever feel like giving up or life is not fair, just know that there is hope. Hope for the future, but also hope there is more to life than this. Don’t forget to pay attention to the little moments of heaven on Earth.
I was blessed because during some of the most trying times in my life I met a man named Mark Huston. He has been there for me thru thick and thin and has never once stopped loving me or trying to help me survive. We now, 11 years later, have a beautiful family together and he continues to amaze me everyday.
Although we don’t always see the angel brought into our lives they are there. It takes patience, perseverance, strength, courage, and faith in order to be able to remove the veil and see the blessings before us.
God blessed me with beautiful children and loving family and friends. He and only he truly understands the pain, sorrow, loss and suffering I have endured in the past. Those that choose to judge and ridicule people only need to know one thing… God is great all the time! He may allow bad things to happen to us and we may not handle those bad things in the best way, but he doesn’t cause the pain and suffering. He allows it to happen to us because he knows we are strong enough and sound enough in our faith to not be turned away from him by the negativity and suffering. (If you haven’t read the story of Job in the Bible you may want to check it out) God gives us the choice to turn away from him during our trials and tribulations. We have to hold fast. Down the road our sufferings allow us to be able to help someone else in their time of need.
The next time you feel like there is no God, or the pain and suffering is too much to bare, remember it is the enemy who wants you to give up and fail. Just know that you matter and everyday you have a chance to make someone else’s life better. God’s greatest gift to us all is free will! We have the choice to follow him or turn away. We have the choice to smile, work a little harder, try a little longer, strive a little further to help others. When you are able to use your negative situations and mistakes as a lesson to help someone else suffering you are able to see the true meaning of Joy.
It may sound crazy, but I thank God everyday for my sufferings. I know he allowed them to happen to strengthen my faith in him. It showed me the person I am and who I want to be. I am grateful for all I have been thru because it gave me the strength to keep pushing when most people would just want to give up. Nothing will change the past, but if we learn from it and strive for a better tomorrow together we can and will make a difference today! – Aubrey Owen
(This post is dedicated to Mark for being my rock during the toughest times and still loving me even when I want to give up and make mistakes)
To those suffering now please know it will get better and hope and faith go a long way. Do not forget to ask for help and let others know when you cannot do it on your own. Please share this with anyone you know is suffering and needs their spirits lifted.
– All my love, Aubrey Owen
