When you are feeling like you are not worthy just stop slap yourself in the face and look around you!
I have recently gone thru a great deal of change and struggle with the house foundation issues, the new job not being all it was let on to be by the recruiter, the family split, and financial stressors that come with providing for two amazing children.
This weekend was awesome with Smokin N Waldo, Fall Festival in Waldo, Lex’s first volleyball game, and great weather all weekend. There were two things that stuck out the most; this grandpa totally getting down at the fall festival(see video below), and the message that father Greg shared on Sunday.
Father Greg said something and it clicked. Things may seem to keep going wrong, and you feel like asking God why you are continually suffering when it feels like it is never ending, but he isn’t punishing you. Jesus was sent here to show us God’s mercy and love. He said instead of feeling sorry for yourself, (Not saying that’s what you are doing) pull up your boot-straps and focus on what you do well. Put effort towards what you do well and other’s will benefit. When you help others you feel better. Even if it is simply doing dishes. Clean dishes make things better for everyone else. My house managed to get clean today, and I mean even dusted the ceiling fans, thanks to Father Greg!
(Please note the message from Father Greg is my own interpretation and not exact words)
Don’t allow the thought of what other’s might think of you to consume you! Most of the time they aren’t thinking about you at all. You aren’t that big of a deal to fleshly people but remember you matter to God and he knows the truth and your heart. You wouldn’t have a great church, or community, or family, or children if it wasn’t for the Lord’s love. He will see you thru the tough times.
When it feels the worst…remember – “It’s not all falling apart…everything is falling into place!”
